Enhanced user and product safety

Behind our ecologically and toxicologically safeguarded concepts lies the know-how of a worldwide leader in the supply of specialty chemicals. We are putting enormous efforts into further progressing safety.Examples of Cognis’ solutions for more user and product safety are, among others:


  • ProEco™ HE 801 lubricants meet the requirements of EU Ecolabel registration. They are ester-based and comprise more than 90% renewable raw materials. Developed for sophisticated applications, Pro-Eco™ HE 801 oils exhibit outstanding performance even under extreme conditions. 

  • Plantapon® SF – Manufactured from corn and similarly renewable raw materials: the surfactant blend Plantapon® SF from Cognis is exceptionally mild and gentle, yet still delivers reliable cleaning power.   • Agnique® GPU – a potentiator that enhances the efficacy of glyphosate, an ingredient extensively used in herbicides. Whereas traditional products are required to bear a “Danger” label, a “Caution“ label is sufficient for formulations using Agnique® GPU

  • Cognis’ Agnique® KE 3308 and Agnique® KE 3658 solvents for prime performance are derived from renewable vegetable sources and constitute a sustainable alternative to aromatic and other solvents of ecotoxicological concern.   • Cognis Environmentally Acceptable Fluids are biodegradable and non-toxic synthetic fluids designed to provide exceptional performance with minimal environmental impact should an accidental release occur

  • Disponil® AFX – APEO-free green surfactants for emulsion polymerization. In 2006, Cognis received recognition for this contribution to the sustainable development of the European chemical industry, in the form of the 2005/2006 “Umweltschutzpreis” environmental award from the Federation of German Industries (BDI). Disponil® AFX won in the “environmentally friendly products” category. more
