Cognis Oleochemicals

Cognis Oleochemicals is one of the world’s largest producers of natural-source oleochemical basestocks. The company, which is a 50:50 joint venture between Cognis and Golden Hope Plantations Berhad, also provides feedstock for Cognis’ four business units.

Cognis and Golden Hope have been collaborating successfully since 1989 in the production, marketing and distribution of fatty acids, glycerin and associated products. In February 2006 the two companies expanded the scope of their existing joint venture with the addition of Cognis’ global oleochemicals businesses, comprising fatty acids, glycerin, oilfield chemicals, ozone acids (azelaic and perlagonic acid), and plastics technology.

Cognis Oleochemicals is a subsidiary company of the Cognis Group with the management responsibility assigned to Cognis.
