Cognis Care Chemicals in Indonesia

Natural raw materials are used by Cognis Indonesia’s Care Chemicals Division to produce intermediate materials for the manufacture of Personal Care products. Among these raw materials are fatty alcohols chemically transformed into sodium lauryl sulfates and sodium lauryl ether sulfates and used in the production of toiletries by such leading manufacturers as Unilever, Lion, Colgate, L’Óreal, Wella, Cussons, J&J, etc.

In 1996, PT Cognis Indonesia expanded its fatty alcohol ether sulfate and fatty alcohol sulfate production capacity in its plant in Cimanggis, Bogor, by upgrading its sulfation capacity and the deployment of a new production technology called “non-tower-process”. According to Cognis’ global strategic plan, PT Cognis Indonesia is the production center of fatty alcohol sulfate for the Asia-Pacific Region.
